If you think about it, if all you see of your youth leaders is during Compass, that adds up to around 40 hours a year. If you go on one of our trips to Castaway, Mexico, or one of the ski trips, we get to see you for 16 hours a day. At no time during the youth ministry experience do kids and leaders spend more time getting to know each other than during a trip or retreat.

 

We here at St. Pat's know that leaving for a few days can be scary, especially for you guys. But we'd encourage you to take a chance once in a while, and try something like Castaway or Colorado. It's been our experience that these get-aways are often the best bonding time as well as the highlights of the youth ministry year. After you and your friends and leaders have traversed Europe with 50 lbs. of stuff on your back, or spent 8 hours in the dust building houses, or just bombed a double black, life tastes just a bit sweeter. And you'd be doing it all in the name of Jesus, so make that a lot sweeter.
